I'm looking for a lower "summer windshield" for my K75RT.

Searching the interweb I found this company in Melbourne, Screens For Bikes, who have a really nice looking one for a very good price of $160 USD delivered in the USA.

https://www.screensforbikes.com/

Having had problems with how fragile the Parabellum shields I had in the past were, I am wondering if anyone has any experience with their screens before I buy one and have it shipped half way around the world.

I had one from them for my 87 RT and it was wonderful. The owner of the company and I discussed the size and the tint prior to him making for me.

Thanks Stan!  I do like the way their screen angles back.  The comfort screen I have now sticks up like a barn door.

Is it very fragile?   My second Parabellum screen shattered when a 3/8 drive ratchet fell on it.  I suspect it wasn't heated properly when it was formed putting a lot of stress in the plastic.

I think it will be brittle cause on their site it says acrylic.  Polycarb is safer in an accident, easy to cut and drill,  but you can't for example buff scratches out with a cutting compound.

It would be interesting how much they would charge for one using polycarb.

My original screen on the RT was angled back too far. I headbutted every time I got on and off. The style of the new screen was the one that the cops required at the time and the company made replacements for them.
As far as strength goes the screen was on the bike for 7 years before I sold it last year and I didn't have any problems. Mind you I didn't hit it with a hammer or test it in any other way.

I've got an acrylic screen that parted company with the bike after an 80 Kph bird strike. The screen was 20 years old and made by a local QLD company that I cannot find anymore. The screen took a chip out of my helmet and then hit the road. I had to drop a U-turn  further down the road and come back. I was expecting a pile of shrapnel and was surprised when I found the impacts had only broken the corner off. It was repairable with a bit of lateral thinking.

That's what I needed to hear.

When I dropped the ratchet, it was only about three feet from the handle bars to the windshield which was laying on the floor under the engine where I thought it would be out of the way.

I have an aeroflow which worked great on my RS. Over the winter I changed out the RS bars for LT bars.
The change in ride position put my in the turbulence again.
I still use it in the cold but no good for noise reduction.

I have purchased both a tinted 75S and the lower 75RT screen from Screens for Bikes.  Reasonably priced and quite thick although neither have been fitted yet.  Quite happy with the products considering they are replicas.

The RT screen may come just with the cardboard wrapped around it so may be an idea to ask for a box if it is going international delivery.

Tackler, thanks for answering my question!  Sounds like these guys make a nice windscreen.  THe photos look pretty nice.

I like that you say they are pretty thick.  The Parabellum screens I had were nice, but the plastic was thin and they broke if you looked at them hard.

Think I'll get one.  Will be sure to ask about the box.

Unfortunately I am working away from home, otherwise I would nip out to the shed and measure the thickness.
