All that might be needed is a slight adjustment. Read this this bulletin.
Thanks for posting that. I am waiting for my new boot to arrive and stop the drip as well.

Update
I replaced two Injectors that weren't working well at idle and repositioned the boot after cleaning everything. So  far so good - no leak!

Refitted the overhauled windscreen and that's working nicely now although it has a taller glass on it which is a bit too tall for me. I will be replacing it with a standard sized one. Maybe light smoke tinted as I did on the Red LT.

Had a very nice second test ride and a few spins around town.

I had been test riding without the side stand on,  waiting for an excuse to order a few parts and replace the bush and bolt. but it's a pain having to balance the bike whilst you dismount and stand it.

These springs give an Idea of the deep cleaning needed on his bike. Every nook and cranny was coated in oily road grime and rusting tin the usual places,

I find a selection of brass brushes in the drill at high speed great for the clean up, after removing as much rust as possible I coat the parts in ACF 50

I have used it on all my bikes for the past 3 or 4 years and find it a good rust inhibitor.

i then refitted the stand  and cases and took a litll espin the long way around to the shops to take advantage of the weather.

Starting to look like a tourer again!

The engine is a bit buzzy at 3500-4500 but i have a cracked header right in where the 4 pipes meet too tight to weld so I will fit a spare exhaust I have in a lockup and wait until that is done to balance the throttle bodies.

A big shoutout to Motorworks for excellent customer service.

I just received this replacement rubber boot (unsolicited) in the post. Presumably they picked up on my  facebook post of the first one leaking in first use.
My future custom is ensured!

Well done Motorworks and thank you!

88 the crack in the header is caused by exhaust resonance. A motorcycle cop in the US came up with a solution to stop the cracks from occurring. He fitted a hose clip/clamp around the four pipes to change the frequency of the resonance.
Regards Martin.

An update on the thread.

Motor works picked up on my post about the Failed Clutch boot from FB and without prompting an FOC replacement arrived and was duly fitted. Problem solved and a big shout out to Motorworks.co.uk for excellent after sales service.

This weekend the Covid Lockdown was lifted enough for me to do a good test spin. I enjoyed a 340km ride with the bike running beautifully. I had a little moment when the clutch failed and I managed to get to a gentle stop on an off ramp. Turned out the Clutch actuation bolt had vibrated loose. I did nip up the lock nut but obviously not hard enough. First car along was an unmarked police car who escorted me safely off the ramp. The third motorist shouted out the window..."are you ok?" quickly followed by " You're BobT's mate (BobT of this forum and living in France) What a small world. A quick chat while the bike cooled, bike sorted and back on the road.

I am waiting delivery of exhaust gaskets to fit a replacement exhaust. The current one has welded headers but there is a tiny blow in the collector joint where you can't get a weld so not a successful repair.

Cant wait to get that done to finally balance the throttle bodies and get it smooth throughout the rev range.

Well the knocking noise was overfuelling on one of the injectors, Top price to Olaf for correctly predicting that one. I brought the bike to a friend's workshop to use the 4 barrel Carbtune and balanced the throttle bodies. The Previous Owner did say he had injector problems and must have adjusted them without any tools  - they were all  over the place. The difference in the smoothness and consistency of the power delivery was really noticeable all the way home.

All that's left to do now is to fit a rear Sensor shim and reset the ABS which was working and tested when I bought the bike but it's out of range since the back end strip down.
