Can anybody tell if it possible to shorten the shock on a k75s as I'm a bit short in the leg I have had the seat lowered but if I could get a short shock I would feel a lot more comfortable when manoeuvring at low speed because I have dropped it a couple of times no damage to the bike but my pride got a big wallop

There is a 1" shorter shock available, but you will probably have to shorten the centre stand. And there other things to do to counter ducks disease. You can also drop the front forks through the trees by up to 1/2" with out effecting the handling much. You can have the nose of your seat shaved or the whole seat lowered by a competent upholsterer. There is also a lower OEM seat available. You can buy boots with thicker soles, and or add boot lifts. If going down the boot and lift route buy the lifts first. You need to try the lifts in the boots to see if they are compatible.

You don't need to shorten the center stand. You just need to go to the gym more.

Re shortening the shock, while (almost) anything is technically possible, shortening the shock is a major and skilled operation by a specialist workshop. That's code for expensive!

I have a RAM short shock on my K100 which helps a lot. http://www.ramshox.com/  Worcestershire. Still not cheap, but likely cheaper than the other option. Combined with a local specialist motorbike seat rebuilder's work, I'm pretty good now.

I haven't been to the gym more, so getting it on the centre stand is a workout. (Do it often enough, who needs a gym?) Not helped by having a K1100 centre stand, which doesn't have the curved legs to help ease it up.

Shortening isn't rocket surgery, at least for Works Performance shocks.

A while back I purchased a used Works shock that had been shortened a half inch.  In the process of rebuilding the seals in it I discovered that it had been shortened by Works Performance by putting a 1/2" aluminum spacer on the shaft above the piston to reduce how far the rod could come out of the body.

Since I didn't need a shortened shock for that particular bike, I just took the spacer out when I replaced the rod seal.

K100 4V, K1100 (paralever)- 390mm 15.375"

K75, K100 2V (monolever)- 360mm 14.2"

A 130/70 Tyre will see you lower in the saddle. Same at the front. I was lead to believe the K75 shockes had a 1//8th of an inch smaller wire diameter spring, if it has been interchanged at any time you may be sitting on a K100 shock??
