Hi from Boulder, CO, USA.

Long-time BMW owner, only bikes I've owned -- from 1990: 1984 R65LS (bought before I could even ride it), K75, K75S, R1100GS, K100RS, R1150GS, R1200GS -- now R1200GS-LC, R1200GS (kept in Hamburg, Germany), and this delicious and glorious "ketchup and mustard" 1990 K1 currently radiating beauty in my living room until summer riding weather.

Need to get lowered footpegs since my knees don't like that bend angle for too long.

My pleasure is long-distance touring since 1995:  All over the American West and western Canada, AK, Canadian Maritimes, Iceland, Tasmania, NZ (2x), Europe (why I keep a GS in Hamburg), Scandinavia in 2018.
However, not on the K1...  that's why I have a GS.

I'm also on ADVrider and their "Tent Space List;" happy to meet and host other traveling riders (you don't even have to bring beer).

I don't think that short of doing something custom (and complicated and $$$) you'll find a way for lowered rider pegs.  If you try standard K pegs/plates then they won't work because they're farther forward and would require really chopping up the K1 fairing lowers.  Also, lowering the pegs would reduce clearance when turning.

However, I've seen 3 offers of lowered pegs for the K1:  lowered footpegs .    KNIGHT DESIGN . another German one (with ridiculous shipping cost).

Have not followed up yet.

As far as clearance / lean angle, I get lots of lean angle on my GS...  and in mountains where I live, too many bits of pebbles on twisty roads, so don't ride that way here...

On those first/third ones it looks like you need a different brake pedal and rear master.  I wonder if/how the shift lever would have to be redone.

The picture on the second link doesn't look like a K1 frame.

(If I lowered the pegs on my K1 then my knees would probably hit the fairing. I have 34" legs and am a pretty tight fit on a K1 but I can still do long days with the factory pegs.)

will ask the vendors about that.

I've lowered the pegs on my GSs over the years, but never any more than installing and slightly adjusting the shift lever.

if you have 34" inseam and can ride all day, you are a lot younger than I!
