Today I created a new sub-forum called "product report"

This section is intended for members to give us their impression or rating on a new product that they purchased. It could be anything related to biking.

I will start with the first post relating the first impression on an after-market rear disk brake for the K100 (2v)
My brother ordered one from Bike Bandit (See Web address on the the links page or click here to access it).
He received it yesterday and he's first impression is very positive. He installed it on the bike without any problems. He also installed a new set of EBC brake pads purchased from the same supplier. As the weather is still not the best, he didn't test it on the road but will report in a few weeks. The price was right as the cost of a disk would be $350 at a BMW dealer.
Here is what he paid:
The disk was (US)$225
The brake pads were (US)$35
The shipping cost was (US)$25

Please keep us posted on the long term durability/performance of this setup Bert. I was looking into some cast iron rotors from PFM Brake systems, but it looks like they stopped making them for the old K's. :-(

I have a Grimeca on the back of mine from Motorworks which was a little cheaper than the EBC as it is a solid non floater same as standard but does not look anywhere near as good as that one.

Having said that it seems to do the job and does seem to have a bit more iron content as it has a little rust when left for a while although if I was replacing the front discs it might be a different story.
