I just stumbled across this article:

https://moneyinc.com/the-five-best-bmw-motorcycles-of-the-90s/

Why am I posting it in humor?

Here's the picture they have of the FOUR cylinder 1995 K75S:

And here's a lovely 1993 K1100RS:

And, last but not least, here's a 1990 K100LT:

I just went out and checked my K75 I seem to be missing a cylinder, I'm down to three. I searched all through my garage, under the benches and even vacuumed the floor to no avail. The Five Best BMW Motorcycles of the 90s 177381 Does anyone have a spare??
I do however have a fairing and belly pan that their K75s seems to lack. The Five Best BMW Motorcycles of the 90s 723598
Regards a perplexed Martin.

I had heard that they prototyped a K / Boxer hybrid in the 90’s with a 4th cylinder on the right.

The K1100 RS is a beautiful tourer that has a little something extra. The sporty appearance gives you a hint of the raw speed that is generated by the 4 stroke 1092 cc engine. This model features a liquid cooling system, an inline parallel triple, and an electronic injection Bosch Motronic MA 2.2 ignition system.

Interestingly the 1990 K100 seems to have the early 83/85 sat with the handles in the seat and the early footrest hangers.....the K1100RS looks identical tot he K1100LT but at least we are in the right place!!

I bought the 7" single for that song, must have been on one of it's re-releases.

I tied it the rack of my Triumph T120R (1969).

When I got home the single was in pieces ….

You're not fooling anyone - it was the original release wasn't it.

And it was in pieces, just like Jimmy's heart, after she dumped him.

Well my mate (much older than me, ish) has always been convinced that the bike on the song is a Triumph with humungous valve clearances - distinctive tappet rattle apparently..
So maybe a T120 was the appropriate bike to go shopping for the record on.

Look out Look out Look out!
