It doesn't seem possible to idle while in first gear, or any gear for that matter. The moto would be moving then stall when the brake was applied. How high was so high and how much was less high was the idle afterwards? Can you clarify?

Was the same length cable used? Was the new tied to the old then dragged into position or was some other method used?

Is the clutch cable interfering with the throttle mechanism or throttle cable?

On my K1100LT the PO put in a new clutch cable and followed the old one exactly. I found it was way stiffer than my K100RT. So I got a new cable for it, turned out the last 2 cables were not correctly routed. Now it works with one finger as it should.

There are two cable lengths, on for RT/LT and a shorter one for others Ks.

Laitch you’re correct, what I meant to describe is when I have the clutch lever activated and the bike is at a standstill in first gear.

The clutch cable could be interfering with the throttle in some way, I’m just not sure where to look for the interference. My K100 has been gutted of most of its stock parts under the tank so it was a breeze to run the new cable under the tank and to the clutch, but maybe I’m hitting something. If the clutch cable is interfering with the throttle where would I look for that.

When the ignition is off and the Brick is on its side stand or however you have it stabilized, when you twist the throttle and release your grip, does it snap fully to its off stop or does it need to be moved a little by hand? Does the throttle have the same action when the bar is moved fully left or right?
