Hello everyone, curious if any of you have a less expensive alternative for a fuel pump? I read the 2011 post that led me to the EuroMoto's pump at $209. Not sure I want to spend $80 on a used one from Beemerboneyard. Need it to be in the US for quicker shipping.
Thanks,
Tim

They can be had in UK for under £50 brand new.

Always worth keeping fuel pumps on the shelf.

Those pumps are always on eBay in the US.  Some are as cheap as a lunch.  Lots of option open for you, I think.  I put an after market pump in my old 1985 K100RS and never had an issue with it.

I keep a spare pump in my shed and a spare fuel filter on the bike. But them cheap because when you do need one you wont be able to get one quickly.

If you use the bike a lot spare brake pads and service kits are useful to have.

Is your moto's pump a 52mm diameter or a 43mm?

They changed at some point. I ended up keeping both because my K100 all have 52mm but I think the later K1100 has a 43mm. To be honest I haven't looked in it.....

Will both work?? I "assume" the ebay kit comes w/ that black sleeve to make it work for 52mm? We all know what happens when you assume... Embarassed I do not know what mine is as I just hauled it home and have not tore into it yet. Of course I just left the gas station filling up. Ugg.

You can use he 43mm pump in the K100 if you maker an adapter but it must be fuel resistant, easier said than done.

Guess I should look in my spare gas tank since I bought a brand new never used K1100LT one in right colour and still in the box off eBay I can get in easily.

Buy a three dollar bulb syphon then transfer the gasoline to a five gallon fuel container

Thanks. I don't have one as not had to siphon gas much. I ordered one of the ebay pump kits the other day before it was mentioned there are two different size pumps. Guess I'll hope for the best at this point and tear into it when I get it.
Appreciate everyones input.

I remove the fuel any time I remove the tank for moto maintenance. Fuel stored during six months of winter gets put in my truck in the spring; fresh fuel goes into the moto's tank.
