Has anyone on the forum extended the sidestand on the K100 or K75?

There was a thread on here about using a hockey puck to make a thicker and broader foot for the side stand. Have a search around it will probably pop up easily.

I've done the hockey puck thing.  It works but it wears out since it's rubber. I didn't bother replacing it.  It needs to be shaped somewhat carefully so that the side stand goes up fully. (At least on a K1100RS with a Staintune.)

The best I've seen is the side stand that came on my turbo K75.  Some prior owner welded about a 2/3" thick piece of solid steel onto the foot of the side stand.

I used a slice of rubber boat roller. I had to recess the heads into the roller and use small flat washers to make sure it didn't pull through.
Regards Martin.

I haven't tried this one yet but I found it in my stash of parts and plan to try it someday on my K100. This has a metal box welded onto the foot.  I think the box is too tall and it may make the bike stand TOO upright.

The picture is a little blurry but you get the idea.

Boat roller slice which can be cut to suit. The post cap is used when parking on soft ground and has multiple uses.
Can be used on the side of the road to hold small parts, water detergent dish for leak detection, dog water dish, ashtray or donation dish.
Regards Martin.
