(Tried posting this under “Parts” catagory, but it won’t let me)

Lost the side stand to my recently purchased 1985 K100RT...by “lost” I mean it was there when I started my ride and gone when I ended it. Wondering if there might be a universal side stand that could serve as a replacnent or if I need to replace it a used one via eBay?

Thanks for the hellp and as a new member to the K100 family, I’m thankful this forum exsists because im going to need a lot of help....

Welcome, three posts then you'll enjoy greater access. You did right to say hello first in the Member's Introduction.

You're better off locating a second hand K100/K75 sidestand as there's not much generic about the location or way it mounts. Be sure to purchase a new tapered screw to hold it on, and springs to retract it.

Thanks TWB - Appreciate the wisdom, and insight to pick-up the either parts so the next one doesn’t go missing too.

don't forget to ask if the second hand sidestand has the bush between the two fingers of the side stand attaching point ...note they wear badly when not serviced regularly ...and a promoted lean angle  will result

also the springs for the retract function

and the spring - stand retract shackle  part 12

It is a wise move to fit grease to both stands and fit one to the clutch arm if not fitted. Some stands had a plug that could be replaced with a grease nipple.

I've moved this post to a more appropriate category for you.
Cheers.
