Greetings from tropical far north Queensland Australia. Just bought a 1985 K75. $200. Price reflects its condition. I like a challenge.

Welkome to the forum. That sure looks like an '86 or later K75 with those footpeg plates, two-piece front mudguard and later seat/cowl combo. Maybe the VIN was difficult to read under all that tropical sludge?  scratch New member Australia 112350

We always recommend to new members that in order to avoid confusion about what model you have when questions are posed, to go to Profile, Signature and put the bike's info up there for all to see. The VIN really helps and we can sort out just what month and year of production it actually is.

Check out that rear drum brake. A K75C for sure.

Looks like you have quite a project there.  It's a K bike though so it will run again.

Here's some info you might find useful:

Welkome!

The good news is that bikes that have hibernated for long periods like yours usually have low miles on the engine and the other stuff that makes it go.  Your bike could easily have a couple hundred thousand miles left in the engine and drive train.  Do you have any idea of the last time it was registered?  Miles on the odometer?

Here's a source of inspiration that will give you an idea of what can be.

https://www.k100-forum.com/t10714p350-83-84-engine-cleanup#173521

Many of the inmates have restored and repaired these bikes and enjoy helping on projects like yours, so never hesitate to ask a question.

Hi Jockularity. You certainly came to the right place. This forum is a great source of info and advice. Good people as well. I am new to K bikes too, been a huge help to me.

It looks like your "new bike" is all complete still. Good that it has not been messed with. A naked K75 is probably a better option in warmer climates than the faired bikes.
