robmack's post there sums it up but I would clarify it by stating that the seal is removed and installed from the transmission side of the intermediate flange rather than from the front of the flange, which could be construed as the engine side. If picking and prying that seal from its position while the flange is mounted is the choice, to prevent damage to the shaft and flange—as robmack indicated is a possibility—confidence and patience should be present in full measure. Be that as it may, here's a question.

What are the symptoms you are encountering, Gabriel, that indicate the seal needs replacement—the thin film of grease on the intermediate flange to which you have referred previously?  Perhaps you could post a photo of this situation.

I doubt that a thin grease film—if that's the concern—is affecting anything. I'd rather be riding and wringing the last few thousand miles out of this season—or any season—rather than doing that replacement chore unless absolutely necessitated by reducing chance of potential slip-and-fall lawsuits caused by a pool of shimmering lubricant spreading outward from beneath my moto.

There are riders at this site that have been more or less happily putting thousands of miles on motos with slipping clutches all the while leaving oil streaks on their shed floors like snail tracks on lawns.  You aren't there yet, are you? Laughing It's a worthy goal though.

Hi

Thanks for all your our replies.
You are correct. It is not a major issue.
I have decided to replace the fiction plate. That’s all.
There is no oil leak at the present moment. I prefer to ride my bike.
I replaced the clutch on my 1984 k100 and no oil leak.
These bikes are solid and a blast to ride.
I recently purchased a bmw k75s and was wondering where can I buy the cheapest clu5ch friction plate?
Motobins most likely.

Regards

Gabriel
