I want to order a couple of parts mainly for my new K bike.

It helps the shop I order through if I order a couple of $hundred worth of parts to make it worthwhile for him. He is a good guy so I don't mind.

My K100RT is in really fine condition but I want to pull the transmission to check the splines, etc just because of age and unknown service history.

I think I should order a spare clutch cable.

Can you think of any other parts I should order to replace just because of age? Seals, etc?

Crank case breather hose. 11151460480

You might want to consider replacing the boots between the throttle bodies and cylinder head. 11611460408 (Qty 4)

Spare throttle cable.

Fuel lines. (But you can replace those with generic hose that's rated for fuel injection.)

If you are going to remove the clutch you might want to consider the bolts, washers, hex nut and O-ring. A rear main seal might be in order as well while you are in there. A rebuild kit for the oil/water pump is good to have as well. You'll have no problem meeting your minimum. Very Happy

Both good suggestions but I wouldn't bother with those unless you're pushing 100K miles or greater.

I wouldn’t order anything until I’d taken it apart and found out what I needed. Generic HP fuel hose is ok but the section from regulator to tank needs rerouteing as the original is preformed so as not to kink.
These bikes hold up really well so no need for blind spending.

I don't understand this comment. I have four K75s and a K100 all running generic fuel line and this is not an issue. The only fuel line that kinks at all is the one from the fuel rail to the FPR but they all run just fine in spite of that.

This is the line to watch if you fit normal non pre formed hose but you obviously have it covered so i’ll shut up.

Both my K100’s had split crank case vent hoses so check that,

Thanks. Your picture helps me better understand your comment. The next time I have an air box removed (hopefully never) I'll take a picture of what a generic line looks like there.

I had a problem with not running the preformed line to the FPR when I tried to run generic hose. On really hot days the line would collapse causing extremely bad running to the point of being nearly unrideable. As a temporary solution I added another foot of line and followed a more circuitous route. The problem was cured with the fitting of a spring over the end of the line where it fed back into the tank. If you only ride in cold climes it will probably not be a problem, as the days it collapsed was 35C and running in slow stop start traffic.

I changed mine last year, ran like a dog until I figured out the line was collapsed.

Only mine was at the other end, and mine ran more like a hairy goat. It hadn't been a problem until the temperature shot up and encountered traffic.

I agree 100% with that lot. Also drive shaft boot, clutch pivot boot, do gearbox seals too, unless you know they are good then add alternator monkey nuts. I did the whole lot on mine in 2017 as it made so much sense to do everything in there. Takes a bit more effort but worth pulling the bell housing and cleaning sprag clutch.

Install a new fuel filter if you don't know how long that one has been in service.

This. Don't get a BMW filter as they are overpriced. Napa 3032 is what I use.

Don't worry, I got confused when I was told about them. Had cause to take the alternator off the K100RT but I had seen black rubber bits around the place and knew what it was.
