No we don't have a drought, but this is something something specific to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Between high and low tide, the Fundy bay fills and empties of its 100 billion tonnes of water, creating the highest tides in the world. The tide can reach 16 meters (53ft). The area where this picture was taken is not where they have the highest tide, but its already impressive. (at least 8-10 meters)
