Very Happy
To all

I have a k100rs as some of you are aware. It has k100rs 16v handlebars with the bar end weights.

Question is hope someone might know answer to. It has non standard foam grips which I don't like, and they falling apart.

I don't like look of original k100rs grips.

Do the grips off later k1100rs fit the ribbed ones?

I don't have heated grips or anything just 22mm one end and the twist grip on the right.

Thanks

Smoll

Pro-Grip 699. Get the open ended version for a bike with bar ends.

One has a smaller interior diameter for the clutch side and the other one is larger for the throttle side.

My favourite OEM-type hand grip, non-heated or otherwise, is BMW's 32 72 1 458 395 (L) & 32 72 1 458 396 (R). They look like this, are cheap enough at less than US$13 each, and have open ends for 'bar end weights. They're softer than the original hand grips, get slightly wider the further out you rest your gloved hand, and go on like an easy breeze. When the heated grips on my Oilheads, etc., wear out I carefully slice off and peel the rubber back - like removing the hide from a rabbit - and lube this version a bit and slide them on (also very carefully) rather than buy expensive new heated grip assemblies.

Note: if using them as replacements for heated grip (to replace the outer skin) then buy two RH side grips (32 72 1 458 396) as these fit over the heated grip internal guts.

Heated vs. non-heated matters on the clutch side since the OEM HGs use a tube the same size as the throttle tube for HGs.  Non-HG grips have a narrower internal diameter on the clutch side since they mount on the naked 22mm handlebar.

That 395 part number you listed is for the clutch side on non-HG bars and won't work with OEM HGs.  For OEM HGs you'd want 396 for both sides.

Correct, thanks for your detailed clarification as to the reason. I added that detail a minute after the initial posting.
