Hey!

We in Germany use often the Kung Long 18, perfect, last long and inexpensive. I use the Kung Long wp 22 just because of the connection.
Kung Long wp 18 is good for ABS or without.
It’s a AGM Battery, no dripping or filling up

I just bought a Supercharger MP01 Lawn mower battery. $99 from Repco and seems to start my bike well hot or cold

Of course a lawnmower battery will start your bike. 
Trouble is that it may not last long and is a heavy old thing to cart about with you. 
I suppose that you saved the cost of a couple of beers so why not.

My K100RT and my K100LT both got out of trouble with lawnmower batteries and if you find yourself with a sudden battery failure in the middle of nowhere you are far more likely to find a lawnmower shop than a BMW motorcycle dealer.

Try the lovely west of Ireland on a bank holiday weekend and a sudden battery failure....been there and the lawnmower battery was my only choice. The money saved bought a lot of beers.

Years ago I was replacing a battery in a smallish country town for the K100 and having difficulties in a match listed for motorcycles given limited shops available. I went to a battery specialist who told me that the batteries for ride-on lawn mowers are a good choice because they last as long on average or better than motorcycle specific ones and are often significantly cheaper. Being stuck, I took his advice and the lawn mower battery lasted just as long as a motorcycle specific one as well as being some $20 cheaper than listed motorcycle equivalents.
...fast forward: I have now fitted LiPo batteries to my K100, Kawasaki Super Sherpa, Husky TE 610EI and Moto Guzzi Daytona RS - bikes of different types and application. I am happy to pay the premium for the weight saving, the reduction in physical size and the period you can leave the battery without charge and still find it cranks over when you come to start with it. I generally get 5 years or better from them.
Incidentally I have just weighed the Shorai LFX24L3-BS12 (24Ah / 360 CCA / Max Charge Rate 24A) in my K100 and it is 1.7Kg. Measure your battery and compare - LiPo will give your K a crash diet!
Several things I have learnt: 1. LiPo's are usually physically smaller than conventional batteries, presenting a problem in terms of securely anchoring them in the battery box. Most LiPo batteries come with a supply of shock absorbing rubber sheeting of various sizes with adhesive backing. You simply cut it to size and stick it on then your battery secures firmly in the battery box. The shock absorbing effect of the rubber sheeting should reduce vibration and may therefore enhance battery life a bit.
Alternatively you can use the space provided by the smaller battery for other uses such as fitting a component or items such as a few tools. 2. If you have a LiPo that has gone flat, it is not necessarily shot. One LiPo I had left for ages was not responding to charging. I forgot about it, left it on charge and looked at it again after 3 days. At the 3 day mark it suddenly took a full charge and I got another year out of it. An increasing number of battery chargers are now available with a LiPo charging option.
At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference, what is available and price/budget.

This is like the oil thread! I've had my bike 15yrs, had five batteries, though one was replaced under warranty. All have been cheapies, the last being $65 on ebay. My riding is usually a 70km round trip commute, mostly highway.
