Hi all
With the existing clutch cable outer sheaf cracked and rusty I purchased a replacement clutch cable from Munich Motorcycles in Perth, Australia (Part #6435250K).
I taped the new cable to the bottom of the old cable and proceeded to pull the old out and the new in. Simple .
Set the adjuster at the clutch handle bar lever to give 75 mm of exposed inner cable at the clutch release lever.
The problem I see is the adjuster needs to be almost fully adjusted out to give the 75 mm. Once I adjust for the 4 mm of free play in the clutch lever pivot it is still about 25 mm between the clutch handle mount and the back of the adjuster i.e. of threaded section (not to the lock nut).
I can't understand other than the cable is wrong.
The issue is when you use the old to pull the new you can't compare them . I'll use a rope next time!
Does anyone have a new cable accessible that could measure the free cable length i.e. just the inner cable with no end ferrels included?
Much appreciated.
Cheers, Chris.
