Corel as many know is one of the software giants in the world of computing.
They operate by buying up other software developers who are showing promise and using the good name of that developer set about making the programs that came with the purchase make as much loot as possible and bugger the ethics.
Corel has recently purchased Winzip which for many years came with Windows and was effectivly free. They have now managed to make it so that as soon as you try to open a Winzip compressed program up comes a popup that tells you that the free bit is over and you must purchase Winzip from them for $43 and I presume that this will be a yearly thing.
You can use many other free (yes free for sure) programs like 7zip to open it.
Don't let these leeches at Corel hold you to ransom there are other programs that will open Winzip files.
