I had a "minor" off on my K100 a couple of weeks ago in Sydney. Bad news is that the bike fell quite heavily on the right hand side, slid down the road and into the grass.

Good news is that I was under the bike and cushioned the fall! Severe grind marks on leather jacket and helmet but apart from extensive bruising I consider myself lucky to have only a broken collar bone, now fixed with a plate and screws.

Surfside Garage in Brookvale are searching for parts as part of an insurance claim. Can anyone offer any of the following:

1. RHS mirror 
2. RHS crash bar.... to suit naked or RS
3, RHS City case lid (or whole case)
4. RHS Radiator shroud (it was cracked by the driving light)

All parts should be covered by my insurance so not looking for charity  Any help appreciated to get my k100 back on the road.

Making slow progress with getting my K100 back together. Insurance has been fine but holdup in the workshop.

Tom FKR has been great helping me track down panniers but the crash bar he has is a different model.

Thanks yes, it is a heavy item with solid cast lower parts. The later one was much lighter!

I now have my K100 back home. The insurance company declared it an economic write off so will pay out agreed value.

It will be an easy fix. Minor repairs to  the radiator shroud and headlight surround and a replacement crash bar..

I rode it home and all was fine but masses of oil smoke. I guess that somehow engine oil got strange places when the bike was inverted  (with me underneath!)

I have it partly stripped down so will have a look for oil in the air box.

Aren't helmets & leathers a wonderful thing when we find our soft, malleable bodies grinding down the bitumen!? I'm glad you made it relatively unscathed, and that the bike is getting back to shape. Every day I quietly thank this forum, and its members, for the amazing resource it is.

Greetings - I may have the correct bar. I have downloaded your photo of the damaged bar and the part number stamped on it. I'll have a look at my collection of K100 bars and see if I have the one, then advise yea or nay. Cheers - Redrockmania

I have a chrome Right side crash bar in very good condition. Looks like new old stock - no scratches or gravel rash. It is genuine BMW. The stamped part number is 4671230376. The distance between the 2 bracket mount holes is 13cm. If you google the part number you will get a photo. I am almost certain my bar is the same dimensions as yours. Could you measure then distance from the centre of the single hole to each of the two mounting holes. My distances are 35.2cm and 41.4cm.

I think maybe you have the same part as I looked at recently. It looks like BMW reduced the weight on later builds. The main difference was that the part off my bike (build no 000701)  and the later one is that mine has heavy cast lower end mounts  inserted into the tubing, the later one relies on flattened and drilled  pipe ends. The distance between the lower mounts point centres on mine is 20 cm. The later one had more closely spaced lower mounts.

I see the difference now. Good luck with finding your parts, I'm sure they will materialise. I wish somebody would prepare a chart with Part Numbers for crash bars and their measurements between mounting holes.

 Not just mounting point spacing but width as well! I think the RT and LT bikes are wider than the naked bike bars. I don't know how many variations there are.

Well, I will take my time getting the K100 back on the road. I have the bike home and Shannons have paid out the agreed value. 

I will still be searching for the crash bar plus a set of seat hinges and prop. I have already a pair of city cases and the radiator  shroud repair is almost done.

However, I am off to Thailand for a few months for a bit of riding there with Ulysses Thailand ... back late February.

I missed the original post about your off (probably skimmed over because of the title), but very glad to hear that you are repaired/well enough to embark on your Thailand adventure and that your insurance coughed up.

That's some serious hardware you have embedded - is it permanent or will they be recycling it? I got to keep my hardware which has undoubtedly increased my scrap value.
