Hello
I bought a K100RT with a broken engine due to overheat. No oil.
It was modified as a cafe racer
And i would like to restore the bike as a BMW vintage look.
First time doing that.

I guess, the best course of action is to buy a used engine from ebay.

Greetings from Chile
Pablo

PD. My other motorcycle is a K1600 K100RT new owner from Chile 723598

Hi Titanio welKome to the forum. Its good to see someone restoring a K and not butchering it to make a cafe racer that looks just like the rest.

Welcome Titanio. Wondering if the rear subframe is cut down (seat support) and what you'll do about that?

Yes. The rear subframe was cut but the last owner has the rear frame piece. I will Weld the tubes again.

Great to hear, though you will have to put a plug in each side so you have something to weld to.  A straight butt weld will not have nearly enough strength.
