Yes. I have been there many times. I have been inside at the top as well. There is construction at the Gateway Arch grounds right now, though.
I'm trying to post a pic of my bike right now.

Yes, it is a nice view of downtown. The pod ride up to the top leaves a bit to be desired.
Thanks for all the kind words.
Duck gets around. MBA at Washington University, a top school in the country. Cheers on that. You are no dummy, that's for sure. I see his avatar everywhere and he even lived in St. Louis for a few years. I am located in the county, not technically the city of St. Louis.

Misery is about right. The heat and humidity will make newcomers never return. It's only for 3 months or so. Sometimes more. It is unbearable to those not used to it. We have a few weeks of Spring and Fall between Summer and Winter. It is a nice Fall day today. The blazing heat may have just ended.
Springfield is nice. You could have went a bit more south to Tablerock Lake, Branson and Lake of the Ozarks for a bit more fun if you like fishing and boating.
Last year I didn't have to shovel snow from my driveway. This year, probably 10 feet of snow.
Cheers

Yeah, when I first showed up in September there I was ready to turn around and go home. At the time not all cars came with A/C and mine didn't have it so my car was like a sauna on overload in that hot humid weather.
I didn't mind the snow except that there was no place to go skiing.

You're right about the heat. I traveled from Lextington KY to Eagle Rock Mo by car. It was on that trip I found I had an intense hatred of grits. I can remember going up the Big Arch, fantastic view from the top.
