Okay, the title is just a poke at you Aussie's. I know some of you take it pretty seriously.
Been a member for a few weeks now and realized I hadn't done the formalities.
The first K bike I saw was a cop bike in Toronto, I loved it. Clean and sharp. Fast forward more than a few years and I finally got around to getting one myself. 1990 K75s, owned previously by 3 mechanics and beautiful shape.
Best bike I have ever ridden. Hoping to P/U a k100 with a full fairing in the near future for long rides.

... and yes, I have a 1987 BMW M6, remarkable car.

Even though I am a Kiwi now, I have to say your intro begs the statement Ah he is talking about England or Germany as even the people who love Canada as I do would not describe it as the Land of Real Beer same comment goes for Aus. Those comments aside great to have you on board with us the K75 is a beautiful bike and so is the K100 RS although from your comment about long rides possibly the tourer would be more appropriate for you. I look forward to reading some stuff from you we have a good leavening of people from all around the world.
Regards,
K-BIKE

The average Aussie beer is generally better than average American beer for taste but lacks the body, substance and subtlety of flavour of most beers from the UK and Europe, and the past few decades of micro-brew varieties from North America.

Paraphrasing what Paul Hogan (Croc Dundee) once said, 'It tastes like shit, but you can eat (drink) it.'

Welcome to the forum. Aussies take nothing seriously but our well-deserved time off!

As an honourary German - I could have sworn you were referring to my adopted home - Germany !!!

Within a 50 kms radius of our Village there are maybe 40 - 50 breweries.

There are diverse specialist beers in regions within that radius. Since we got our house out there [ 5 years ago ] we have been gradually sampling our way round them all !!

Like most German villages [ and towns / cities ] there is a Beerfest - "Oktobersest" - every year, and that just happens to take place on the village green which is - ohhh - 200 mtrs from our house !

Well, I like Japanese and Chinese beers. Local Blue Tongue and Crown Larger are my choice, not to mention Little Creatures.

Okay, I agree it was a dumb thing to say,CND beer is only better than
American beer and that's not saying much.

Just wondering why there is such a large contingent from Down Under in the membership of this forum?

Nice to see another Canuck on board.

Just come back from the 40th Bluenose rally (This is the oldest rally in Canada).
This is a small gathering open to any bike. 1/3 of them were BMW and it was at least 15 K bikes (for a total of 250 motorcycles).
Nice to see all these old K still on the road.

About the beer, here in Canada we don't have anything comparable to the European one.

We get Moose Head beer here. It seems to sell well as it appears to be readily available. It may be a bit like our Fosters Smile only really enjoyed in the overseas markets and Aussie tourists Smile

Mmmmm ! Beer !
there are some great beers in the Uk and some god awful nitrogen pumped crap too
I reckon most countrys have some decent stuff if you look.
A few years back I had to go to Belgium to do a show for my company
I was told they had over 200 different beers and I tried to sample as many as I could
before they threw me out
They did good chips too
(thats the UK type of chips btw, not the bag of rusty razor blade type things)

WELCOME ! by the way
