Hey everyone-
I might buy a nice 1985 K100RS from a buddy soon. Going to see it this Monday and will make a list of things it'll need. He's a long-time airhead guy who also dabbles in Guzzi's. He's had the bike 10 years and says it *just* needs the bodywork put back on and a few gaskets ("nothing really major"). He's a straight forward, honest guy so I trust his word.
I'll get hard bags with it and he'll sell it to me for $600. I'm sure it'll need tires and a battery at the very least. I've never owned or ridden a BMW. I've had 3 Guzzi's (two 850T-3's and one 850T) and a variety of older Japanese bikes. I'm also no seasoned mechanic but I've been tinkering on cars, trucks, motorcycles for 30 years. I use forums, manuals, friends, etc to help me with what I don't know.
As far as this bike is concerned, I will be researching what I can before looking at it. So far, I know I have to make sure the splines are okay. I'm all ears to tips, advice, etc. I'll post pics when I can.
