Now that I am K free (it took a real effort to 'cure' the K Pox) I'm looking to fitting a sidecar to my R80. What I need is a set of K100 triple clamps complete with the top nut. This will allow me to fit the K100 leading links I have to the R80. I might also need a set of K100 disks to get the calipers to line up, but I wont know this until everything is assembled.

Preferrably I'd swap my collection of K100 parts for these. I still have to sort out what is there but I know it includes an after market fuel pump, a 12 rivet output shaft, a rear wheel, headlight and a collection of miscellaneous bits and pieces. I'll get to it over the weekend.

Let me know if you are interested, or even if you have triple clamps to sell.

From what I read on another post I am fairly certain you will need the discs. Someone on the forum has an issue on this as he was putting R discs on a K and it didn't work out. Check the disc face to face dimensions on both as it appeared the offset on the disc/backing plate is not the same on the R discs and the K discs even thought hey are same diameter. Seems they were slightly different thickness too.

Yes you are probably right. Since I am fitting leading links there may be some scope to space the calipers out so that they line up, which is why I want to assemble it all first before making a decision.

The triple clamps will dictate the space between the fork legs for the wheel and spacers. If you are taking the entire K100 leading link set up with K100 triple clamps then the dimensions should all remain as on the K100. That should mean K100 wheel spacers axle and discs will go straight on. Effectively it's a complete front end swap.

Yes, that is the basic idea. From what I have read on airhead forums the triple steering head is a complete swap. I'll just have to see if the R80 wheel will fit and whether I go to a K100 wheel & disks. Slowly slowly..

G'day Guy
I now have the triple clamps. I might be interested in your front wheel with discs and an axle if you have one. No water pump though sorry.

Hi Rockman

Do you have a 12 rivet K100 output shaft to suit 1984 RT.

Wheel looks fine, discs at 3.56 mm, replace tire and (I assume) bearings

You can PM me and we can discuss further.

Regards

Guy

Hi Guy
Yes I do. You might have to change the bearings as they are different on the pre 86 but other than that its a straight swap.I dont need the wheel any more but the output shaft is for sale. Cost me $100+postage. You can have it for the same money if you want.
Cheers, Phil
