Hello folks,

Little introduction to the forum to say hello. From the North East of England and currently working on a 1993 K100RS 16V with a genuine 14K on the clock. Been stored in my ex wife's garage for nearly 18 years (long story). Only got ownership again last year and it is in pretty good condition however its been lying so long now that I am simply working through everything to get it running again. Forgot how pricey Beemer parts are!!!

That's a long time for the poor old bike to sit unused - it's usually the kids and the pets that suffer from the split up. One heck of a long drawn out divorce settlement!

Still, sounds like, with a little effort, you will get her back on the road again (the bike, not the ex, that is). Plenty of info on the portal page and elsewhere on the forum (really helpful search function) to help you with your project. Several good dealers out there in the UK (e.g. James Sherlock, Motorworks and Motobins) that stock a good range of K100 spares...and occasionally some bargains on eBay for those harder to get components. Prices aren't too bad...but it can mount up quite quickly if your'e not careful.

The only thing that will have suffered from the layup is the rubber. Around of new hoses and possibly some seals.

a lot of us have bikes that have had layups in there careers the K will fair ok.
