K100LT, 1990.
Sorry to be a bit of a dick, I think I have a rear sensor problem after trying to read the fault codes(not as easy as it could be). I want to do further checks through the ABS module....but....???
WHERE THE HELL IS IT ???? Help please.

1990 K100 LT it should be in the rear duck tail, access under the seat at the rear. It may [should] have two rubber straps holding it in place. If its ex police it could be under seat. Even unplugging and reconnecting may help. Not sure about how the reset is done.

Keep us posted. Presumably bike is still all going ok?

thanks for that, never looked in the tail piece hunted all over the engine area, plastics off and back on again......
Brakes are working ok without ABS but the flashing lights are a pain in the ....will run the checks through the module. Do you know the layout of the relays as well ? I'm guessing they are located in the tray under and at the rear of the petrol tank but I'm not sure as to which ones are ABS associated....a photo would be nice...???

And hello from further south in France.
Have you checked the ABS sensor gaps at the back and front wheels? It is an easy thing to do and worth checking if that clears the problem before going into deep diagnosis mode.

Hi BobT, didn't realise they were or would need to be adjustable, surely there is no wear within the sensor head ? What would the gap be between the (guess) point of the sprocket and the sensor head ? How do you adjust them ? sorry to be a pain in the....

No they don't wear, but as things get old gaps things move. I believe that the gaps should be about 0.5 mm, but look at the manual to confirm. there are probably shims to adjust the gap, can't remember anymore.
It is a very simple check to do and only takes 5 minutes.

The gap can change a touch when you remove the wheel so a good idea to check each time.

This thread was the introduction and see you now have another for the ABS issue.

Have a look at the tread below, set up by BobT. 88 on the forum and myself are heading his way in September and looks like we will be passing very close to your place on the way back to Cherbourg as we pass up to St Lo.

Time for you to dust out the camping gear, without difficulty you will fit all you need on an LT........ We tend to travel with what we need and a lovely area. Long but doable one day run down for you but nicer with a break and definitely no need for more than one overnight.

If the pistons are stuck or seized in the brake calipers would this résult in an abs non working hazard light situation ? I réalisé the Breaking capability will be non to good. Many thanks
