Well here I am back in the mix with another project K, this time an '89 K100RS. Figured I'd start with this post and reintroduce myself seeing as it's been over 4 years since I was active here.
I retired a few months ago and now that the cold damp weather is setting in on the west coast of Canada I felt I needed some projects to keep me entertained. Currently creating a bobber from the world's ugliest production bike (1982 Yamaha Maxim 750) for a friend, and that's coming along nicely. Yet I realized this would be completed before the new year, and then what?
A local bike shop that I frequent had previously offered me a couple of sad machines and I pulled the trigger on them yesterday. One is an '89 K100RS, and I believe this is the Special Edition (white and blue), which had sat for some time as the PO had passed away. Low kms and I think it'll come up fine. The second is an '01 Moto Guzzi V11 with significant wiring issues, I suspect a mouse may have been dining on Italian copper. The harness will need replacement. Neither is running.
I'm sure I'll need some clever mates to help me get the K bike running, and maybe even speak some Italian, and I'll document progress.
So... do you still love me?
