This is why you need more than one bike!

That weekend will give me 2 days between getting home from the MotoGP and heading off to Guyra. So if the bike for Guyra is clean and serviced before I leave for Phillip Island on another bike it will just be a matter of washing the riding gear, kiss the girl and go again. Don't even need to change panniers as touring panniers will be the go for Phillip Island and city panniers will be fine for up north.

Good idea Gaz, one bike knows the way north and the other goes south. Which bike do you use if you want to go directly east from your place for about 500kms?

Odds on I'll be there assuming the K is going by then.

Thanks to Smithy posting that Jacaranda picture, I may be having to tintop it up there so Mrs RT can have a look. Still, better than being home.

Just be aware that this are the same days as the Thunder Rally at Sheba Dams (Nundle).
It's doubtful that I can attend as I'm recovering from shoulder operation #3 after hitting a 6ft tall roo at Emmaville (near Glenn Innes) in May 2015.

I really feel for you Andrew I had a shoulder op about 7 years ago to fix some tendons and it was the most painful op I have had.

We have a BBQ on Friday and Saturday night and an esky full of amber refreshments .
Plenty of camping space, hopefully dry but no guarantees.

Klompy, if you want to camp here, I can flick my tent and air bed up for you, as it's a 20km ride back into town.

Lads...The plan at this stage for the NT Ride is:

Meet up up with Bro Tom and Bill from Goulburn somewhere on the Thursday morning.
Gloucester - Thunderbolts - left to Dungowan via Port Stephens Cutting - Tamworth - O/N in a pub at Manilla.

Friday: Up to Bingara (Hopefully with an intact rear suspension!), right toward Copeland Dam, Inverell, Tingha and thence to Smithy's.

Sunday return trip indeterminate at this stage.

Sadly, RT and Sharon will not be attending.

Looking forward to it!!

(Smithy...Green Coopers?? - to be reimbursed on arrival!)

Unfortunately there's no way I can make this realistically.  Too far for a weekend out of Sydney is the reality as i can't really take any extra time to make it viable (shh, but that's needed for Bright in November, cough, cough).

This years ride will take us to Glen Innes for coffee then a run down the Gwydir to Grafton for lunch, returning via Tyringham, Ebor then Guyra.
Rickmeister I was trying to remember what beer you were drinking at Robo last month, I'm happy to get you coopers or whatever! I bought some coopers larger and it was a good drop so will get some more.
Enjoy the ride up guys, looking forward to the catch up, sorry to hear you cant make it Al .

Looks like I'm out for this ride. I have a geophysics crew running over the weekend to look after. I might get a quick run to Glen for coffee, depending on when you think you'll get there.

Hi Ed I can probs make it to Harry's on Friday but the whole weekend away is unfortunately not looking good...the LT is still kaput but the ol girl is as good as always.

Will reevaluate when I see how much work has built up after 10 days away...

By the way I saw no BMW's in New Caledonia...at all...suspect the salty air is the culprit.

Hope all you Knuts have a great time. I been laid low by what the medical team refer to as a "bug" and am on two weeks of anti bug stuff. It is nice to know that the tablets are gluten, lactose and sucrose free.
