Have just acquired a 1987 K75s, these K's are so addictive!  and noticed that on turning on ignition and start switch there is no noise from the fuel pump. My other K's, the pump always gave a buzz every time it was stopped and re started. This one is silent even after standing 24 hours. Is this impending doom? John

Don't spread it about or everybody will want it Laughing 
Does the bike run as in is the pump actually going. Usually they are fairly quiet with a full tank and statr to kick up a fuss as the tank empties.

have to agree there rick

bit noisier when near empty ....but have to add that the nipon denso pump in old gerty is a pretty quiet item these days ....perhaps its about to die ?   giggles

Its an instant starter from cold. Haven't ridden it yet though.

The fuel pump on my RT is almost silent when the key is turned on.  In normal traffic sounds it's inaudible.  When I am in the garage and it's very quiet I can hear it run very faintly for a second or so when I first turn the bike on before I start it.  In the 28 years I have owned the bike it's always sounded the same.
