Nice to see that the owner of the grey bike also maintained the original fork and handlebars. (Steering is heavy, but the funfactor mighty high and: it's a good work-out also !)

The person selling it did not build it(re the original forks).  It's an import from Japan, he brings in many interesting bikes for resale. I knew him years ago when he was a salesman at a couple of different bike shops, good guy to deal with.

It would absolutely be better/easier to ride with a leading link, the OE forks give much heavier steering (been there, done that) but it's bearable. The front suspension geometry needed for a solo is far from ideal for a sidecar.

I was up at Cadwell park recently for a race meeting celebrating 50 years of the Historic Racing Club, part of the Vintage Motorcycle Club.

There were plenty of K's racing in the BEARS 'big wheel' sidecar class, including forum member slow phil, and, as they are not allowed to change the forks, most of them had the fork yokes (triple trees) cut and welded to reduce the trail. Ingenious, but you have to trust your welder.

Yes I noticed the fuel lights as well as my 85 has two low level fuel lights and the pillion handles are in the seat. This bike has the handles in the seat but only one fuel light  -- minor differences at some time as pointed out by Inge.

I went to my K100 RS stable and looked at the rear discs on the 1984 July and the 1986 Dec both have solid discs with no slots!
So slots were before July 1984 obviously.

Are aftermarket disc's slotted?

When the K100 was first released the rear disk was slotted the same as the front disk.  They were replaced mostly by recall due to cracking.  Obviously this does not apply to US bikes as they arrived later there.

Both my registered bikes are ex-cop.
BOB the Blue Old Bike had a bit of a dodgy dual seat mount, bodgied from the original single seat mount. Worked fine, but I'm a bit picky on some details.

I did send a request to the seller for an estimate to ship to British Columbia - not sure he will answer as he says in the advertisement no overseas shipping!

However I just realized that the sidecar and it's connecting pieces are designed to couple to the left side of the bike and I would much prefer the sidecar to be connected to the right side for North America use.

From my viewing point here in NA, this is a very good price.

FYI: Few years ago my K100+sidecar was shipped from Florida to Maine and the best quote I could get was (CAD) $1,000. The bike wasn't crated but just loaded on a trailer.

We have been looking at ways to get to your part of the world without spending 12-16  contiguous hours in the sky.
I was excited by what I see as a very reasonable price for the rig. However with you folk and the Japanese driving on the wrong side of the road the rig is not set for me to use it comfortably here.
Move your continent just south of Hawaii and make the trip easier for the rest of us.

Air Kanada flies direct from Vancouver to Brisbane since last month. Just jump on the Cariboo Hwy, through Australian and you are halfway there. 

I can meet you at the airport and lend you a K75. Problem solved.

6 years ago, I decided to install these expensive Caroma Australian toilets.
Now, one of them is leaking and I cannot source a $6 seal in Canada.
I found one on Ebay USA but if you look at the screen shot, the shipping to Canada is totally crazy ($76.38). Shipping in the US is only $2.45.
Usually, UPS charges another $50 for brokerage fees


I need a favor....
Would somebody in the US be willing to lend me a US mailing address and I will order 2. Then at the reception of the package, ship it to me using regular postal service which should be less than $10.
I naturally would pay the shipping cost back.
