Hi all , hoping someone might have some photos of any k bikes modified to adventure touring style , I believe the 75,s were used for this years ago have read a few references to this occurring. I have fitted lt bars and a para rear end to my 75c and it already handles the gravel roads well I,m thinking with a more aggressive tyre it could be a good little all rounder . Not much choice of 18" front rubber , may have to use a rear  tyre reversed  or dirt bike front end with 19" or 21" wheel. Would like any ideas or info from anyone who has done this mod Cheers AB

I run a Heidenau K60 scout on the front (and rear) in a 110-80-18. It can be used as a front or rear and mounted both directions. 

You can also bolt in k1100 forks, triples and callipers and use a 19'' R1100/1150GS front wheel with rotors too I believe. 

With the para rear end you can also modify it to take the GS spoked rear wheel too.

I am in the process of fitting a Kawasaki KLX 650 front end to a K75, it has ended up being a mix and match but mainly because I have the bits to mix. The KLR 650 would be an easier fit but I didn't have one of them. 
The Suzuki DR 650 would be a better fit I reckon because the Suzuki head bearings are often the same as a K.

Thanks for the info , might go with a set of k60,s for now and see how it handles the dirt. I get to keep the front end &brakes which are all in good nick and work really well on the road but should be able to tackle the sort of dirt roads and reasonable tracks I'm planning on doing. Cheers AB

You won't be able to easily use an Oilhead R1100GS or R1150GS 19" front wheel due to Telelever 20mm diametre axle instead of K bike 25mm axle. Simply swapping bearings with the correct ID is not simple. Making an appropriate axle and spacers is the go. Also, later R1150GS Evo calipers have shorter spacing between the mounting points and will not work for K forks.
With GS spoked rear wheel use you'll have to replace the inner FD cover to accept the GS caliper as it too is a different mount. See the excellent recent forum video titled (roughly) Spoked wheels on a K bike, posted by our Russian forum comrade.

Yep been there , done that mod on my café so not a problem i      

Decided to modify a Honda xr650r for my adventure rides  glad I did , just got back from a ride on this to the Gammon & Flinders ranges via some desert runs and it ate it .Left the tigers and gs's for dead in the tough stuff even the ktm 690 didn't handle as well as the old red pig . Took some tricky mods but well worth it just needs some fine tuning in the setup . Still got me k75 with a recently fitted rickman fairing I pickedup I'll keep it for the road.
