MY bike passed it yearly MOT inspection with just an advisory that the
rear disc pads were getting thin
So I'm in the market for some

Motobins just say original BMW which tells me little
I bet BMW dont make em, just buy them in and I dont want to pay through the nose
just because its got BMW on the box.
I saw no mention of the Icer ones I've seen mentioned here either
Looking further afield I see EBC offer GG or HH, I also see references to sintered (hh)
which I understand plus organic, kevlar and ceramic carbon (huh?)
Prices vary from £30 for 'BMW' (yeah right)
to cheapo £9.99 ones which may eat the disc away prematurely ( noooo!)

I just want some decent pads at a decent price

any tips recommendations?
Thanks

You can find Icer pads on the Motobins site. If you go to the page for brake spares for K's you will see a drop down menu with the heading 'Brake Pads (Genuine BMW)'. On that drop down menu you can find 'Brake Pads (European)'. Thats where the Icer pads are listed. I believe the front pads are the same as the rear.
I've been using Icer pads on the front brakes for just over 1k miles now and have found them ok.

I am using the 'Icer' pads from Motobins on the rear of my K100RS and find them to be effective at stopping, dust far less than the Brembo pads that were in there and stop well in both wet and dry. I think I might have paid £8.00 on special. I bought three sets so I've got spares for the front as well. They will be all the same part number in the three locations for your '87 model, Reg.

Always worth putting by some spares because if you don't nothing is more certain than when you need them now they won't be available for a while.

Thanks guys will have another look at 'bins'

Edit:
Aha! found them!
I missed that section before
£8.75 and the second set halfl price
thats suits my shoestring budget and if you guys reckon theyre OK
thats good enough for me
I'll have a look at the condition of the fronts later and as advised may stock up
now.
Thanks again
Reg
