Now that I’m retired, I seem to sit around the house all day.

My wife said, “You could do something useful, like vacuum the house once a week.”

I gave it a moment’s thought and said, “Sure why not?  Show me to the vacuum.”

Half an hour later I walked into the kitchen for coffee.

The wife said, “I didn't hear the vacuum work, I thought you were using it.”

Exasperated, I replied, “The stupid thing is broken, it won’t start.  We’ll have to buy a new one!”

“Really,” she said, “Show me – it worked fine the last time.”

Having taken a video of the damned thing, I showed her.

I think The issue is, he isn't using the Kickstarter!

So do this:
If you use the compression lever to get the indicator squared up you might miss the compression stroke. Here is my procedure. It works every time—and works on any thumper that I have ridden. Unfold the kick start lever and start kicking. Kick until you cannot kick anymore (should only be one or two strokes) Once you cannot kick anymore you know you are on compression. Bring the kick start lever all the way back up. Depress the compression release and hold it open until you bring the kick start lever back down just a quarter more--this varies, but a quarter is pretty standard. Let go of the compression release, bring the kick start lever back all the way up, and then give it a sharp kick. No gas should be necessary. Should fire right up. I don’t even use that indicator but I have noticed that the mark will come into the window using this procedure. Hope that helps.

Cheers

When the K100 first arrived on the scene back in the dark days of the early '80s, at rallies when they'd turn up the noise reminded me of a vacuum cleaner........with a head cold.
