Another " last Friday of the Month" Harry's Bike Night and we decided to venture into town .
This was a very special ride as our son Rhys decided to join us . This was his first time back on a bike since our "off" in May.
As I prepared myself for the ride in , Rhys gingerly asked if he could come along , a "yes" from his mum ", was all I needed. " but put all your safety gear on" was enough to give him the courage to get back on the horse.
It was not an easy departure to Harrys , due to a long lay up for Smurfette , the battery was a bit on the low side of charge .
Usually a quick hook up with leads when jumpstarting the K100's , but in the case of the 1100's , some minor surgical removals are reuired to access the battery terminals.
Took me about 10 mins of surgery to get in there , but once in , we were jumpstarted in no time at all .
It was a 20 min ride into town to Harrys,
It was a very sociable and enjoyable evening at harry's . However , it was Rhys's ride and he called the shots , so an early return home was summonsed .
It was one of the best nights encountered at the cafe , mild temps of around 20 degrees, no rain , and plenty of bikes and riders to join in with .
The start up to go home was trouble free , plenty of charge , had me a bit worried though , beforehand .
I took the jumper cables with me as a precaution , never know there might have been a working harley to get power from
.

the Bikers for Kids Newcastle Toyrun were at Harrys as well in preparation for this years ride.
The Newcsatle Toyrun is one of the biggest biker rides held in Australia. Averaging more than 10,000 riders annually.
It is on again next weekend ( first Sunday in December).
Doesn't that Harley look nice , good to have some bling to add to Smurfette.
thats it till next month folks. See you at the Toyrun .
