My old K100RT and Sidecar flashbacks. 00210

This was a very tough and reliable motorcycle which took first me and Bella, then me, Bella, Kerry and Seamus on a  lot of very good trips.

Bob, Kerry, the Hillbillies and I recently moved down to the Hunter Valley. You're welcome here anytime of course. Quite close to the wineries.

Just sayin'

Sean , how was the manouvreability of the K compared to the Rocket , especially on the the tight twisty bits , such as Ulong and the Alpine Way?
Always good to see the whole family enjoying the outings .

Ed, the Rocket is like trying to ride the Bismark through the tight stuff. Down into those troughs on the Khancoban road or the old road etc is very hard work. To be honest I can't ride it hard....I'm not that good. ( Nor was I ever) Even on solo bikes I have thought I was going pretty hard...then someone like my brother Tim would stroll past like he was trying to stay awake. Smile The K bike had a shorter wheelbase and was a lot lighter. I reckon I was able to ride it about 70% as quick as a solo bike. The Rocket is made for high speed sweepers and long riding. Power wise it would eat the K100 for breakfast...and it ought to..being almost 3 times its size!  I've had it at 180kph ( indicated) with the two dogs, Kerry and all the camping gear and it was nowhere near flat. I think I would be lucky to ride it at 60% as quick as a solo bike through the tight stuff. Mind you...I crashed the BMW...twice.

Conclusion? I wish I still had them both. :pirat:

Of course it is. We all have one of those folders that says "never to be published again".
I'm still trying to translate your message, my 1942 German/English dictionary is not coping.
