So I just bought a '89 K100 and did a 700km round trip from Sydney, over the mountains and up north. It really thumps along great at 120km/h on the freeway!

No problems until the fuel tank cap wouldn't open on the way back, I don't suppose anyone has a spare for sale? (I broke it)

A common problem but there is a fix for the fuel cap. Its a much overlooked maintenance job along with the ignition switch. If you do a forum search you'll find some good info about it or just put up a post asking for help.

We're heading off for a run around the Snowy region next weekend. You may be interested. Meeting at Jindabyne friday evening. A good opportunity to meet with a good number of our East Coast Ozzy members.

Cheers

It will be a top weekend away , shame when work interrupts the social activities .
Alternatively , for those who cannot make it , I was thinking a meet n greet at Kirribilli on friday night , great spot for a harbour pic .
I could make it there around 9-10pm , late night pizzas?

Hi maximus, it's probably a bit late now, but here's the post that to which Charlie related:-

https://www.k100-forum.com/t9469-open-a-petrol-tank-cap-which-has-a-broken-lock

I've already drilled the holes in my K's petrol caps just in case the problem occurs.

Anyway, enjoy your K,

Paul.

My take on the fuel cap potential fail is to either drill the hole, put a mark on your fuel flap or else memorise where to drill it.

First option seems best though, so that you have an immediate solution if travelling.
