Hello from Cape Town, South Africa,

I am Shawn, I chose ConfusedRS as a member name mostly because I am confused about my K100RS that I bought, in PIECES.

I am fairly handy around a workshop and can get by with a lot of pictures and repeated instruction. The Beatles "I get by with a little help from my friends" couldn't be truer. So I am hoping to get some pictures, some layman instructions and a whole bunch of moral support.

Looking forward to many chats and making new friends.

PS Any idea where I can get a set of injectors or an aftermarket substitute?

Hello Shawn from the south equator!

Welcome here.
So you got a bunch of K parts, fine, you'll have something to do!
If you need any injectors, I'm selling some good injectors, 4 holes instead of one hole.
Starts great, the new cleaned injectors make a smoother ride!!!

Will cost you around 100€ since shipping is 44€.
They are well known for the K bikes and tested, as well as cleaned.
If you got somebody who flies from europ it's 60€.
Just send me a PN.

But you can take the Bosch injectors from a car BMW E36
The Bosch number is 0280 150 415
You will get six and can sell two.

Welcome to Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Klub Band where the lonely hearts are Kured by Kpox right across the universe!.

Kpox: an unrelenting disease whereby anyone acquiring a K is immediately infected with an urge to acquire more Ks. Symptoms often go unnoticed until one they manifest themselves an an urge 'got to have that'. Some get hit once a month, others go for a few years and then suddenly get 4 in one.

On a much more serious note you will get and find all the technical info you need to get your new RS into running order. You will also find the guys great for a morale boost when you feel it going wrong. A K is a bit like electricity, you wonder how people manage without them.

Welcome, Shawn!  You have found the world's best source of usable K bike information right here.  You can tap into hundreds of years of experience and and at least a couple dozen complete restorations.

So, first off, how far has your brick been broken down?  Bare frame?  Is the engine in the frame?  Is the engine in bits?  Has the wiring been removed/hacked?

Do you have any photos that could give us an idea of where you stand with it now?

Regarding injectors, there are several threads here that discuss alternatives.  Do a search on "K100 injector replacement".  There are ways to test and clean them so if you have them you may not need replacements.

Anyway, with a little work you'll soon have a ticket to ride.

Welcome Shawn,
take a look at Tills Site. A Memeber of German Flyingbrick's.

http://www.jt-c.com/index.php?cat=c9_BMW--K-BMW-K-Serie.html

He is the man for injectors... (he is english spoken, call him)

I've made the electronic Hard- and Software for testing injectors.

Welcome Shawn!

I would make it a point to brose through the various forums to be aware of the vast amount of knowledge/how-to that has been posted.

A truly phenomenal amount has been created.

That and the search function has stood me in good stead.
