Hello all and thanks for the add.
I live in southern England and have just bought my first BMW - a K75RT with 76,000 miles on the clock.
I have other bikes and bought it as a winter hack. I bought it 'blind' from a well known auction site. It was cheap and I wasn't really expecting much from it. I had never ridden one before and the for the first half mile after collecting it I was thinking to myself "What the hell have you just bought?" Compared to my Harley and Ducati it seemed to whir like a sewing machine, felt top heavy and everything worked a little too easily........ By the time I got home, some 25 miles later I loved it!...... Why had I waited so long before buying one?
I am very impressed with the tractability of the engine........ I find myself in 5th gear at 35mph but it will still pull well up to 100mph.
I know very little about these bikes mechanically but I hope this will change soon with the help of some input from this forum.
