Hello to all,

Recently bought an K100 to work on it. Undecided whether to keep it original or go scrambler. Either way work will be required. I own a 66 R50/2 and a 71 R60/5 but these are very simple machines to work with, so I hope to get some guidance here.

Welcome, Ivicenzo, from over here in the slowly chilling PRV.

When it comes to simplicity though, I'll take the K's spin-on oil filter to the early R50 and its oil slinger, and the K's 20,000 mile valve adjustment intervals, stable Hall Effect Sensors and fuel injection to early airhead timing/adjustment and carb maintenance, but then, I'm not a tinkerer.

It will be helpful for readers of your posts here if you click on the Profile tab then put your bike's year of manufacture and model in the bike* box because the information there will be attached to every post you make in the future.

The first thing to do is take off the fuel cap assembly, remove the fuel and inspect the fuel tank. After that, plenty of help will be found in this site's Portal and by making queries in the Troubleshooting sections.
