Found myself with time on my hands and a tired standard seat.  Very happy with how it came out.
I should add that this is my trade, I just haven't done it for a living for many years.

Very nice Al.  I like the way you used red stitching to match the red pin stripe.

The original owner liked stickers etc and had stuck vinyl pinstriping on many places.  I've been removing it, the red pinstripe you see is actually the original paint colour where its covered by vinyl tape, the rest of it faded (lots).

The bike will get painted back to original one day, but it's not high on the priority list.  The seat just cost me the time to do it. And right now time is something I have plenty of.

Al

Do you have enough time to do a thread on rebuilding a seat?  I have one that has been home to a family of mice for several years and needs to be rebuilt.  I hope that as long as I'm at it I might as well make something that isn't reminiscent of equipment used during the Inquisition.

Wow 1st impressions were, nice orange paint scheme and red pinstripe yet weird graphics on the front fender, funny how wrong it can get, but I love the seat it no longer looks like a plank

Laughing The weird graphics as you call them are simply where the paint has peeled away showing the black plastic the guard is made from.  She's done 200,000 kms and got stored in the guys backyard under a tarp for 5 years, It has patina.

Hey Al, that "orange" matches the colour of my K75 when I first got it. At least the BMW red is consistent to the shade of orange it fades to.

That seat is a an example of the good thing about being unemployed??

Cheers

I got spoiled by a Comfort seat on my LT, still haven't found anything as good. I need to get another seat now to sort the RT but unfortunately the RT is 84 and the LT 92 and the seats are not interchangeable.

Gaz posting at this time suggests he is sitting leisurely somewhere having a nice quiet beer while Ruth is enjoying a spa treatment......

Your seat still looks a ten fold improvement on the sports seat, what were they smoking over there in those days

Gaz, when I took the bike for its Blueslip inspection, the inspector was looking at the various shades over the bike and asked what am I going to call this colour for the paperwork.  It's listed as Orange with the RMS now. And it passed without a bother.

Its nice being able to do things without rushing is the answer to the other question.

Al

-Blueslip is an inspection for a new or initial vehicle registration in the state of NSW
-Pinkslip is the ongoing annual inspection in the state of NSW
