no I'm camping this year for sure, probably stay at naromine again at the airport huts on friday night - lovely lady runs this place and the rooms are cheap as , then trundle off to the rally saturday, then take a leisurely two days home again via ????

I thought it was about time for a gentle reminder.  

The Far Cairn is on from 18-20th September (not too far away now).  You're all welcome, whoever comes I'll see you there.  

Marie and I will be heading out on the morning of the 18th from the lower mountains if anyone wants to join us.  Probably via Narromine.

We should be there providing the roadworks are kind and then onto the Scrap Heap Ride the next weekend.

I had plans to be in SE Qld by the third week of September and was going to try to make FC this year then onto Clunes again to see dear ol' Mum, but looks as though I'm not able to return 'til February '16 due to work....'less of course something drastically changes.

The Red Rocket will have thought I've forgotten her...

There's always the Karuah River Rally around 2nd weekend in Feb

Haven't been to that one since '11, as in '12 when it was pouring down with rain I chucked it in, as you may recall, didn't want to have to cross that raging torrent, and found the last over-priced room in town.

Perhaps I'll make it this next year.

It's nice to be able to stagger back to the warmth and safety of your tent over the long grass and amongst the snorers rather than risk being run down on darkened streets by a drunkard on his way home from the local pub.

Ill be leaving on friday morning around 8:30 with my mate rob on his bmw 1150, we will be riding to the camp site but this might change if we get to tired (he is a bit old )

Mal, there are very few opportunities for any us here in Oz to do any "spirited" riding these days with the revenue collectors everywhere "making the country safer", so I wouldn't worry about a couple of old blokes like Tommy & I speeding off into the distance.

gaz, my bike is currently off the road and I hope the parts are received well in advance of the rally, fingers crossed.

now on a positive note let me look at the map and let you know if we can make this rendezvous

Getting close now Mal, how's the bike coming along? Also were you able to read the map OK?

Indian036 has been in touch with Tom and I and he will be braving the journey from Goulburn to Newcastle and travelling with us out to Tottenham on Friday.

yes bike back on the road last Friday, new tyre rubber, new orings on manifold, new rubbers on carbie inlets, service, etc bike now goes so much better
We are leaving central coast around 8:00am so we will not make the time sorry gaz
We are travelling ,at this stage via broke etc to make a day of it, but that might change depending on weather
Were planning to make the rally Friday afternoon but we have some people to see on the way and time might be curb this.
But we will be there Saturday morning, "this time we will make it"
looking forward to meeting a few more faces

We are just about packed and will be heading out Wednesday for the first night at Chaffey Dam near Tamworth then on to some unknown camp site thursday night then Friday AM into Tottenham so I shall be there waiting with some reserved space if possible.

Good to hear Rick. I'm going to take a slight northerly loop going out via Gilgandra (probably lunch stop on Friday) then down through Warren and Nevertire to Tottenham, so we shouldn't be too late in.

My travelling companions have planned a pub dinner on Friday night.

Looks like I have Friday off work, nothing like last minute decisions! Lunch at Gilgandra hey, I reckon if I get away from here by 7.00am I could meet up with you blokes at Gilgandra @ around 12- 12.30ish.

Well, the thriving metropolis of Gilgandra was rocked by the appearance of 5 Ks next to one another. The locals even stopped their vehicles and allowed 3 of the bikes to perform illegal u turns in the main street. Yes it was the lunch time meeting of "the gang". I was concerned when the meal that I ordered and paid for arrived and the waitress was very reluctant to serve it to me....no doubt it was because of the dodgy group I was with.
Great to meet up with forum members face to face..Bill, Smithy, Garry, and Tom..who claims to be Rickmeisters twin brother. I was not fooled by this...Rickmeister has a beard..Tom does not.

Thanks to everyone who helped and came along to the 7th Far Cairn Rally supporting the Motorcycle Accident Rehabilitation Initiative.
Good turnout, great weather and a fantastic time was had by all.

Well my Far Cairn Rally is done for this year as I had to leave Tottenham about 1:30pm to attend a family event back at Mudgee tonight.
Our band assembled at Branxton truck stop where one,

became three


and we headed to Dunedoo for fuel and the traditional Krew morning tea.





Next stop was Gilgandra where the ranks would be boosted as Stan has posted above. Here are the 5 Ks at Gilgandra.

Malcoops and his mate made it to site this morning so good to meet them in person.

And this is my first post with photos off the phone.

Home in Goulburn at about 2:15pm. All good, only a few spots of rain as I rode into Goulburn today, otherwise none for the whole trip, contrary to the weather gods' predictions.

great time had by all good to meet up with some of the gang again. Tonight we are in Nerandra where we had the meet up a few years ago. Had a good run down with barely any traffic and on to Shepparton tomorrow.
