Good morning all,

After letting my previous battery die with a drain somewhere, I tried swapping out the regulator/rectifier - as this is what most people reckoned the drain was. I purchased a new battery - a Motobatt MBTX30U and we have lift off again Smile

..but (there's always a but), my abs lights are flashing and don't respond to a reset.

Could it be that the flashing abs indicates that there is still a drain somewhere?

As per the title my new (fully charged) battery reads 14.02v while running & doesn't change much when revved. Is 14.02 right??

Cheers

Bonz

EDIT: I didn't mention, its a 1990 16v.

I have found that the ABS unit will drain the battery if it is faulty. What you describe is exactly the circumstances I have seen before.
My wife's K75 was draining the battery and as soon as Tosi fixed it all was good and I have seen it with one other and heard of it on several more occasions.
I would expect 14.2 at 3000rpm and slightly less than 14 at Idle but what you are seeing is quite OK

I honestly think that the Motobatt MBTX30U is the perfect battery for the K100 2V or 4V. Plenty of power, maintenance free and will maintain its charge for weeks when not in use.
For Ozzie K-bikers the best place to buy one is from batterybusiness.com  Excellent next day delivery from Clive and I could not find cheaper at AU$190 delivered.

Re ABS... try this link

Measuring the voltage at idle doesn't mean anything.
Static (engine not running) around 12.8V or more is best
Charging (at 2-3k rpm) 13.8 to 14.4V max
