Sorry if this is a numptie question, but can the taller RT screen be fitted to an RS?

In a word No. There are aftermarket screens made for the RS. Parrabellum comes to mind, I think they make one that does make the RS very much like an RT/LT. If I'm wrong someone will come bouncing in and say I am the numptie.

Thanks, I'll check them out. I'm used to riding bikes screen-less or with an old barn door Avon. At touring speeds I find the RS screen adds to to the buffeting, but I may be being picky.

You're not being picky at all. Search the forum sniffy... you'll find lots of discussion about turbulance from screens.
My RT fairing has now been removed but previously the turbulance from that screen was so deafening I replaced it with one half the height that I fashioned from lexan. That made a huge difference. Much quieter.
She's naked now which presents other problems to be reckoned with.

A lot of the problem seems to depend on the height of the rider - I'm 5' 11". I have standard K-bars on a 25mm riser behind an RS screen. Buffeting isn't a problem (the wee airfoil does its job well) but noise is, yet if I tilt my head back by as little as an inch from its 'normal' position, it all goes quiet. I put up with it because when it rains just the slightest movement of my head clears the water from my visor.

Taller screen options for an RS:
Aeroflow (US)
Parabellum (US)
Secdem (from Motobins)

I like the idea of the Parabellum but the price is $$$$.

I fitted the Secdem because:
The RS screen worked well with the RS bars, with the RT bars now fitted, the RS screen doesn't work that well.  I'm not tall but I'm stuck up in the wind more. The Secdem seems to work, the helmet visor stays open and I don't have excessive wind in my eyes, I look over it easily.
