I want to change my gearbox and final drive oil but I'm not sure if I am buying the correct oil.  I can find 80W90 in GL-5 but nowhere on the bottle can I find anything referring to it as Hypoid use.  It says it is for high pressure use but I'm confused if it will actually mention Hypoid.  Help?

Very Happy Hi !
Just a week ago I changed my gear- and finaldrive-oil. (K100RT, build 1987.)
Always used Putoline 80W-90 'heavy gear' API GL-5 (and never had any problem shifting; smooth as a baby's bum  Laughing)

I use Mobil 1 and Guard Dog Moly.  It gets changed about once a year.  No troubles at all.

GL-5 is a hypoid oil so you're good to go with that 80W90.
The only other question is whether you use mineral, synthetic or a semi.
