Hello gang! I'm new, bike isn't :-) ,but I'm looking forward to getting involved with this forum. My name is Mark, live in cork city, and I am the proud owner of a red k100rt which I bought in January. It has a few quirks,so I'll be asking plenty of questions and hopefully get to meet new friends :-)

Welcome Mark,

No shortage of answers to all your questions here on the forum and certainly no shortage of friends in Ireland and further afield. Several very active members very close to you too that are sure to lead you astray. Most K's have a few quirks, but they are good bikes to work on and great bikes to ride.

Enjoy

Thanks ! Can't wait to take it on along trip, really looking forward to getting to know the bike inside-out...a bit daunting at first as its only my second bike, but its exactly what I wanted...have a lot of places to visit, and it will be cool to meet other people along the way with similar bikes, chew the fat and sip a pint maybe :-)

Welcome to the eccentrics, Mark.
Don't worry, we're not all like Olaf. Cool
If it's somewhere to go on your K you're after, check out the Irish Photo Rally.

Your reputation preceeds you Mr. RebelredK ! That was my experience with the K in the early days - short runs won't just cut it after a while. The Irish eccentrics meets will give you a few longer outings. All the quirks are known and understood on the forum and solutions are here for most.

Will

Mark,

Let me know your plans, I'm about 175 miles from the Rosslare/Fishguard Ferry and about half way to Surrey, so if you need a stopping off point for a cuppa or overnight stop...or depending when, a tour of this part of the world, give me a shout. It would be good to see you.

Glad to hear you've been "first blooded" by Olaf - I guess you are officially and Irish Eccentric now - did Olaf talk you into the Aug camping week?

Details of your bike - doesn't upload from your profile. Click on the "Profile" tab, select "Signature" and then add your bike details in there. Uploading pics is easy too, but read the how to up load pictures post (enter into the search box) as there is a knack to it.

I saw the post about Surrey this morning and thought........

My eldest daughter lives in London, north west in a quaint village called Long Marston.....and currently working in Oxford.....so a big potential for a UK visit. 88KE is sort of close to Rosslare and another of us who likes camping......The hard bit for me is the ferry on my doorstep takes me to France in 14 hours for the exact same money as the ferry at Rosslare 125 miles away costs to get to Wales in 3 hours. We did have an excellent overnight ferry from cork to Swansea but the high fuel prices killed it off.

This subject did not come up yesterday partly because when we were having breakfast we encountered a group of riders over from the UK for a few days so some nice chat.
