I see someone in the UK is reproducing very original, vinyl stickers such as paint codes, coil labels, etc. for a range of the older BMW's, including K's
Might be good for the big rebuild.

Thanks for posting this Comberjohn, I'll be buying the "use genuine parts..." sticker that goes on the lid of the cubby hole in the rear cowl.

Good find!

Good find!

On my old R90s I used that space for my gloves. It was all open so when you popped the seat up the gloves just dropped down in.

When I got my current bike I had somewhat of a difficult time because this space is all enclosed. I finally decided to leave the lid (hatch in nautical terms) off entirely. Here I keep my rain slicker (pants only), a ball cap, and a fashionable pair of sun glasses for those days when they're needed. Wink

Now the question arises, what's the function of this space, and why does it have a cover? Also, what do other people use this space for?

I have the tool roll, jumper leads, spare clutch and throttle cables, tyre repair kit, small compressor, a multi meter and several pieces of clean rag to pack it all in tight.  My gloves I put in the right glove compartment.

I've ordered 3 of the stickers that go on the lid for the cowl. Very straight forward ordering process without any hassles.

I'll see what they're like and report back to you lot.  Very Happy

...and thanks to Gian for printing them!

Re: rear cowl space.
More tools, tyre repair kit, spare clutch and throttle cables, first aid kit, elec tape, duct tape, roadside safety vest, tie-down straps, spare fuses and bulbs and the user manual which fits in the top flap.
In the under seat compartment above ecu I keep original tool roll, half a dunny roll,  a decent phillips and flat screwdrivers, tyre guage and rag.
On top of the compartment lid I have a microfibre cloth for wiping the seat if it gets rained on.

Cheers

Wow . . this is FREAKY man.

Now, when I go to buy a bike how am I gonna tell if it is original or not ??? The stickers used to be a great indication of just how much a bike had been tampered with.

Now I will be all confused :-(( . .  lol . . . Great to see this service though. Good one !

I've been holding off a new paint job due to the inability of replacing the stickers under the seat (if you can believe that).

Guess I can't use that excuse for much longer. BMW stickers 652573

Thanks for your comment on the service.

Not sure about that, in the first place I designed my own replicas to replace my old ones because they were discontinued from ages.

I bought a couple of tail cover stickers from Gian and mentioned that the originals are a gloss finish, not the supplied matte finish.

So, Gian search for some gloss vinyl to print on and sent me one.

I'm impressed! So if you are missing the orange gloss sticker from the tail cover, get on to Gian.

Great work Gian. Thanks for making the effort to get it as original as possible.

Check out his other stickers too!

The postman delivered a envelope today. In it was a complete set of brand new stickers for my Ex-Police K75RT, made by Gian Maria, who is a member of this forum. As far as I can see they are top quality, dead accurate and ideal for restoration and/or refurbishment of our beloved K´s.

I picked up a set of Gian's stickers for my K75. They look superb and I'm very happy with the quality. There are stickers there which I didn't know BMW applied to the K series so I'll hav eto research where they go. I'll be applying these over the factory originals to spruce up its looks. I especially like that Gian made up a colour sticker to the code of my custom paint!! Cools.

I've got some major update for all things stickers, as following a big rearrangement of all stickers now there is an online shop, very easy now to browse and to find what's available for making a state of art restoration.

As for K series beside warning stickers under the seat, you will find ABS in red, grey and white, complete K1 kit including also the ABS tech specs with tolerances etc, a very detailed and accurate K100 8v and 16v kits, ...

Here:
