So, in a excitable state I find a pair of footplates on fleabay that match, to replace a broken right side with a 'new' set. 
They arrive intact, so on to the powdercoating shop for a satin black finish. Got them back, marveled at how good they look and, lo, when I went to mount them on the trans/drivetrain I notice...BIG holes, where my originals ('85rt) have waaay smaller holes.

Why are these holes so big? Are these from the ill-fated rubber mounted days?

This is the rubber mounted version which was used most of the time -83 -85.
Solid mounted was used a short period before the -86 on with a different design.

Search the rubbers and big washers....is what I would have tried.

That is the ekshaust mount, not shure if they are similar.

Thank you Inge. You're talking me off the ledge. Can you tell me which part #'s I'm needing for 2 plates?

You will need 6 pc. of each from #2 to #9. The spacer is NLA, use one from
the ekshaust mount as a template and make your own ones.

Don't know why the most forward spacer is different, I'll guess you gonna find
out when fiddlin with the parts.

I had a set but can only find one rubber now. Its likely I gave them away with the fairings as I sent the guy everything that looked like mounts.
You could lathe up replacements from Teflon or Ally.

Maybe contact BSK speedworks as they may have some from the bikes they are converting with their rearsets.
