Bought my 1990 K100LT to complete my IAM training in 2008 after a certain Italian Multi-road bike gave up the ghost. Fell in love and have doubled the Ks mileage in 6 years.

Well, now I need to sell on some spares to off-set some out-goings.

This is a great forum.

Hello - hoping not to be shot down here. 77k miles is the current milage.

Going strong, and regularly returns 55 mpg. Hard to fault really.

The only way you get shot down here is with good company and a few beers and banter if you meet up with a few other K owners. We love it over here.

Dai can vouch for that!!

A few K outings would be good!!

You would be very welcome to take a trip over here. Mike was over recently, for afternoon tea at Craggy Island, met up with Ringfad, Comberjohn and myself. Paul Lipscomb did a solo trip at Easter and met Ringfad and myself. Came again in September for our annual Norn Iron trip and met Dai, Comberjohn, Ringfad, Corkboy, 88KE, Bjorn, Pat OD, Cluain Si, Tom Flynn, Reg, Squig (Eugene), Markzz, Sgmayhew and myself and hope I didn't forget anyone. Put September 2015 in your diary. There will be a thread for it in time.

Consider yourself well and truely still flying.
55mpg (UK) is pretty good, infact that's 5.1 lit/100klm. The user manual says 5.2 (I think) so yes... hard to fault.

Welcome V11POW

Good to know there is another K on my doorstep.

As you'll see from the forum, the Irish (Eccentrics) and the Australians seem to be very good at rounding up K bikes in their neighbourhood and meeting up. We don't seem to be able to the same over here on the UK mainland.

Having met with the Irish Eccentrics, I know that we are missing out. So if you ever fancy a ride out, a meet for coffee/tea/beer let me know.

I very nearly went for an impromptu ride down to Lands end today (and was considering calling on Krambo enroute). The aim to photograph my bike with the Goonhilly Down earth station (on the Lizard) as part of the "Let's play tag" thread. Stupidly, I talked my self out of it when I saw the weather forecast...and now am kicking myself as I look out at blue sky and sunshine!

Anyway, welcome aboard, hope to see you out & about.

I decided I waa taking the K out today then my conscience got to me so spending a good day in garden instead. But secretly plotted an outing tomorrow. Having some inlaw family an hour away suddenly asking for 'a little help with something' can be very useful!!!

There are quite a few Ks here down south west England so you should be able to get something going. We love Wales but being 15 minutes from check in for a ferry to France as against 3 hours drive to check in for ferry to Wales that costs me same as ferry to France doesnt help. But, a Wales weekend is definitely on the cards and has been discussed over here. I have been there too many times to pass up another trip. Welsh railways are for me!!

Best idea for a meet up is pick a nice place that's a nice ride to, have breakfast together, have a rideout and a few coffee/photo stops and end up somewhere nice to part from. All very informal but nice. Makes for some nice new friendships. 88KE and myself went to France together and had a few other camping weekends here, we met through the forum. Now looks like Sgmayhew and Comberjohn will be coming on our next France outing!

Hello Dai,

I'm in Christchurch, near the border with Hampshire. In fact, (depending on when you left the area you may remember this), Christchurch used to be in Hampshire, and Dorset started at Poole.

Best Regards
Neil

I lived on Poole Quay for fifteen years, then left England about eighteen years ago. I remember Bournemouth as being part of Hampshire and being really peeved when the powers-that-be moved it into Dorset. We didn't want it - nasty place Mad . I get back there on irregular occasions as a very good friend still lives in Bear Cross, but how the place has changed in the last few years! Poole Quay isn't the place I used to live, but I have to laugh at my old house. I painted it in typical seaside colours (blue and white) in order to sell it (1997) and it hasn't seen a paintbrush since! What I can't get over is the increase in traffic volume; what you accept as a normal day is worse than Belfast at the height of the rush hour Shocked
