Growing up in a small rural town, I an a number of me friends spent our summers traveling from swimming hole to swimming hole or one fishing stop to another by trail bikes. That’s how it went, until we turned sixteen and started to get the keys for dad’s car.
A few years later, fourteen to be exact, I started to get the desire for a street bike. I thought and an R80RT would be prefect, I just hade to fine one in decent shape at a reasonable price. As time went I decide I could make due with a Jap bike, Suzuki GS500E to get miles back under my belt, cheap and durable. Actually, It was a great little bike for ripping around town, I kind of miss it now. Anyway, after the eleven year distraction of the GS and a couple of kids, I still had a vision of an R80RT, although the vision morphed into a K75S. I had looked at a few K75 over those years and found the K didn’t depreciate much either. That’s fine when you own one, but a bugger when you are trying to convince someone to give up their beloved K for the peanuts I was willing to pay. Well, I eventually gave in and last fall I finally found a suitable K75S to call my own. It’s a wonderful bike, but I still have a desire for an R, maybe an R1200RT, but it would have to share garage space with the K75S.
