to the problem or not:
Find the switch connector (under the RHS battery cover) and disconnect it.
At harness side connector, connect all four contacts together...........
(it's 3 yellow wires with tracers and one brown wire)
your neutral light should now function as normal, if it's the switch that is the
reason to the problem.
Thanks to all,
I am over whelmed with the quick responses from every body.
Yes, I will share my K Bike experiences - and Pics.... She is my second.... I had a RS 1985 before this one.
Inge K . . . . great info, I will try that and let the forum know.
Further information from my end.
The bike was off the road for some months whilst I did a number of repairs including the odometer (that was fun).....I
have photos and advise for any body that needs to do this repair.
Every thing was working before my repairs........ (Oops)
When I tried to start the bike after about 3 months the battery was flat, I connected jumper leads and found natural,,,,,,
Here is the part that gets a little funky.....
when I hit the starter when the natural light was on the motor turned over very slowly and the dash board lights including the natural light went very dull (some thing was defiantly wrong)....... This happened for about 5 seconds before I stopped....
This was the last time I saw the natural light. She will start with the clutch pulled in, when she is in natural the GPI says "4", natural = blank, 2nd gear = "5"..... you got the picture......
I have reseated all electrical connections 5 times over in the hope the problem will go away - removing the swing arm to get at the GPI switch is not what I have plained for Sunday...
I will try Inge K's suggestion to see if the switch ok or not - I saw a big power transistor in the speedo I just hope I did not fry it........
Thanks again guys, I hope my experience and confession above can help others........
